OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH THE PLANTS

What is
herbal medicine?

Herbal medicine is the practice of working with plants and plant preparations to support well-being.

Leaves, roots, flowers, seeds and bark may be prepared as teas, infusions, tinctures, oils or other remedies. These practices carry generations of observation, cultural knowledge and relationship with the living world.

At The God’s Rose, working with herbs begins with listening. We make space for your daily rhythms, nourishment, rest, emotional life and connection to community, alongside the reasons you are seeking support.

Herbal care and plant medicine ceremony are connected parts of our work, each with its own purpose, preparation and considerations. A consultation helps us explore what is appropriate for you.

HOW WE HOLD CARE

Earth-based healing.
The whole person at the center.

Your body, inner life and spirit belong in the same conversation.

01 / LISTEN

Begin with your story.

We take time to understand what brings you here, what you hope to explore, and the practices and relationships already supporting you.

02 / CONNECT

Return to relationship.

Rooted in Indigenous and African ancestral wisdom, our approach honors the Earth, the cultures that carry plant knowledge, and your own lived experience.

03 / CARE

Move at your pace.

Herbal guidance, movement, breath, rest or ceremonial preparation may be part of your path. We discuss options together, with care for consent, readiness and integration.

A FRAMEWORK FOR THE WHOLE BEING

The three bodies.

In the spiritual framework that informs our care, we recognize three interconnected dimensions of experience. This is a way of reflecting on the whole person, rather than a medical model.

Three seated figures in an educational yoga illustration: the physical body, the mental and astral body shown through layered contours, and the bliss body shown with a single enclosing contour.

01 / PHYSICAL BODY

The body we inhabit.

Our embodied experience: movement, nourishment, rest, sensation and our relationship with the natural world. Care begins with attending to daily needs and listening to the body.

02 / MENTAL & ASTRAL BODY

The inner landscape.

Thoughts, emotions, dreams and the subtle dimensions of experience. Reflection, breath, meditation and integration can offer space to meet this inner life with attention.

03 / BLISS BODY

The quiet of being.

The spiritual dimension of connection, stillness and a sense of wholeness. Sacred practice invites us to make room for meaning and presence, without forcing an experience.

HERBS & CEREMONY

Different pathways.
Shared care.

Everyday herbal care and sacred ceremony both ask us to slow down and listen.

Our ceremonial work is held with intention, respect for the lineages that guide us, and attention to preparation and integration. Participation begins with a conversation about readiness and suitability.

BEGIN WITH A CONVERSATION

Tell us what
brings you here.

Share a little about yourself and the care you’re seeking. We can explore your questions, discuss possible next steps and determine whether a consultation is a good fit.

Please keep this inquiry general. We can discuss medications, diagnoses and other personal health details privately during the consultation.

Herbs can have side effects and interact with medications. Herbal and ceremonial care do not replace medical care; suitability and individual circumstances matter. Learn about herb–medication interactions.
